「睡前英文故事」Detective Work《偵探工作》

A bank robber stole a lot of money. He was caught and sent to prison, but the money was never found. 

一個盜賊從銀行偷了很多錢。他被抓住送到監獄，但是錢沒找到。

When he came out of prison, they watched him to see what he would do.

當他從監獄出來時，他被監視，看他會做什麼。

Here is the detective, reporting to the inspector. 

這不，偵探正向檢察官報告。

"Yes, sir, I found Johnny .I followed him all around the town, but frankly, I couldn't make anything out of what he bought.Here's the list——shirt , heavy crowbar,  box of chocolates , shovel, heavy hammer, bunch of flowers ."

“是的，先生，我發現了強尼·阿米塔基，我跟著他轉遍了全鎮，但坦白說，我不能從他買的東西中推斷出什麼。這裡是清單——襯衫、大鐵撬、一盒巧克力鐵鏟、大鐵錘、一束花。”

The inspector said, "Good. That helps me a lot. Do you remember how we watched him helping his neighbour, old Mrs. Judson to cover her backyard with cement? 

檢察官說：“好，這對我很有幫助。你還記得我們看到他是怎麼幫他的鄰居，賈德森老太太用水泥鋪院子的嗎？ ”
