Don't tell tales 可不是讓你“別講故事”
前兩天突然從總部“空降”了一名教學總監Lawrence，這哥兒們居然還是我們現在外教主任Tony的美國老鄉！任命一下來，辦公室裡有幾個好事兒的主兒就湊到Tony跟前打探這個新總監的過往“秘聞”，但人家Tony就冷冷地回了一句：“I don‘t want to tell tales behind others’ backs。”
呵呵，為Tony的正直點贊！剛才他這句話的意思就是“我可不想在背地裡講人家的壞話。”所以，這個“tell tales”就是咱們中文裡的“搬弄是非、打小報告、說人八卦、揭人隱私”的意思啦~在這裡的“tale”可不是一般我們所說的“故事或童話”，而是“壞話、謠言”的意思。
