25 Things You Should Know About Becoming a Teacher from: John Spencer

Fun Facts on Why Teachers Love Teaching?

Geeks @ Snapask

Teaching is an extremely difficult profession, but many teachers around the world still continue doing so。 Why do so many teachers burn out from their responsibilities, but still do what they do — with a firm and strong conviction。

Here are a few reasons you probably didn’t know why teachers love teaching even beyond retirement;

Learning from their students

If there’s anything teachers love more than teaching, it is learning。

Throughout life, we learn from people we meet of all ages。 People’s interests, culture and personalities are examples of a few。

Seasoned & experienced teachers are extremely adept with interpersonal skills and knowledgeable in many areas。 With their experience, not only are they knowledgeable in their subject(s) but also in many areas outside academics — all from their students。

Forging genuine relationships

It is human nature to want to help one another。 However, teachers possess a superhuman level of altruism。 They genuinely want to help their students to excel in their subjects but also in life。

We’ve heard many touching stories of teachers going the extra mile coaching students beyond just their academic struggles。 Around the world, we’ve heard stories of students with struggles (financial, family, relationships, etc) approaching their teachers for help。

This is because they know it is only their teachers who are willing to help without expecting anything in return。

A dynamic occupation

A teacher isn’t required (or supposed) to sit at a desk for hours continuously。 As a teacher, you rush from class to class, make time to forge relationships with his/her students and enjoy the occasional holiday seasons (that lasts weeks) — though many teachers find themselves working from home。

There are few or no occupations that come close to the nature of teaching as a job。 This ever-changing, dynamic role appeals to many teachers。 Not everybody is suited for a role like this but those who are, love and thrive in such environments!

From the reasons mentioned above, ultimately, teachers derive purpose and satisfaction from teaching。 It is more than just a job that pays the bills but also a benevolent profession that many often overlook and take for granted。

If you are considering a career in teaching, a life of satisfaction and challenges await you。 If you are already teaching as a tutor, we pay our respects and many of us wouldn’t be here today if not because of your contributions and passion!
