故事發生的人物(who),時間（when），地點(where)，和事件(what)
的經過展開
。
理解這類文章的寫作思路，對於我們解答完型填空有很大的幫助。為此，透過多年的英語教學實踐經驗，對於這類文章，鄙人整理了一些心得體會，得出了之我見的解題思路。
解題的思路：
（1）找出故事發生的時間：有可能是一個時間段，發生的事情經過。也有可能是幾個時間段發正在同一個人身上的故事。所以我們一定要把握住記敘類完形填空的時間順序。
（2）有可能是在同一個地點，發生了一個事情的經過。也有可能是在不同的地點一個人看到，或者說發生在一個人身上的故事。這是我們要注意記敘文類完形填空空間順序。
（3）要找出完形填空題材料中的人物。列出每個角色的行為動作並體會每個行為動作背後傳達的含義。儘可能結合上下文，理清他們之間的關係，語篇中代詞的前後指代關係。主要是透過事件發生的場景以及人物之間說話的語氣來判定。
（4）學會列出語篇中褒貶含義的詞彙，分清這些詞彙在語篇中的分佈。
（5）故事類完形填空都有一個共性:重點是以小見大。主要講述的是作者看到的聽到的，或者說作者本人親自做的與親人，與朋友，與陌生人之間的故事。故事的發展往往是最開始比較艱難，透過人與人之間的幫助，或者說自身不斷的努力而迎來了轉機。作者講述這些的故事的目的主要是想表達一種精神：人道主義精神；不斷努力進取的精神；珍惜友誼；關愛家人朋友。故事的結尾一般都會點名主題昇華。
（6）結合獲取的資訊，讓自己進入到具體的情境中去理解每一個人的心理感受；
再結合自己平時積累的字詞句和語法知識，最終基本可以深入理解，完美答題。
