用英語怎麼說呢？
1. 新手
在漢語中，“新手”指剛入門的人或剛剛從事某一行的人，沒什麼經驗，完全是個“小白”。（比如偶這個剛剛拿到駕照激動了一晚但是不敢上路的“新手”）不管哪個領域的老手都是從稚嫩變得老練的，都有一個經驗積累的過程，第一次開車、第一次做飯、第一次進入職場……多少都會略顯笨拙。接下來看看如何用英語表達“新手”吧。
1）I'm new at this.
例：
☞Can you drive？
你會開車嗎？
☞Yes， but
I'm new at this
。
是的，但是我是新手。
2）green hand
為什麼“新手”是“green hand”而不是“new hand”呢？
因為England是個島國，船是重要交通工具，為保養船隻，常用與海水一樣的綠色油漆來漆船。一個不熟練的油漆工，工作時常會雙手
粘滿
油漆。所以，人們之後就用“green hand”來表示“新手”。
例：
He is a
green hand
in business management。
在商務管理方面，他是個新手。
Do you see any
green
in my eyes？
你當我年幼無知，當我傻啊？
3）rookie
rookie指的是剛進入某個領域或剛開始做某工作缺乏經驗的人，用網友們通俗的話說，就是“菜鳥”嘍，比如rookie cops（新手警察）。
例：
This was clearly a
rookie
mistake， and an expensive one。
很明顯這是一個菜鳥才會犯的錯誤，並且代價高昂。
I‘m not good at skiing， I’m just a
rookie
。
我不擅長滑雪，我只是個菜鳥。
當新手犯了錯誤的時候，你可以用以下這句話去安慰TA，你可以這麼說：

4）virgin
virgin的本意指
處女，童男
，根據此意，引申為
新手，雛兒，完全無經驗的人
。
例：
I’m a laundry
virgin
。
我沒洗過衣服。
Kris has been an action movie
virgin
。
Kris從未演過動作片。
Don‘t ask him too much。He’s a
virgin
。
別問他太多，他還是個新手。
5）novice
這個詞表示
inexperienced person
，是
新手、初學者
的比較正規的表達方式。
例：
I‘m a
novice at
these things， Lieutenant。 You’re the professional。
中尉，做這些事情我是新手，你是行家。
6）beginner
例：
The course is suitable for
beginners
and advanced students。
本課程適合初學者及程度較高者。
7）layman
當你想表達自己是個門外漢，對某事很外行時，可以用
layman
來表達。
Where the law is concerned， I am only a
layman
。
談到法律，我不過是門外漢。
8）freshman
新手、生手，還可以表示中學或大學的一年級新生。
例：
So you’re also a
freshman
in the Department of law？
這麼說你也是法律系的一個大一新生？
I’m a
freshman
but I’m already gaining experience。
我是新手，但是我已開始獲得經驗。
9）newbie
菜鳥，新手，尤其指使用電腦或網路的新手。
You are not the
newbie
you were when you entered the workforce。
你已經不是剛開始工作時的那個新手了。

2. 老手
老手指富有經驗的人，如老兵，老運動員。
1）old hand
someone who is very experienced and skilled in a particular area of activity；a person who is skilled at something through long experience。
例：
We should be able to trust Silva to negotiate a good deal for us - he‘s an
old hand
at the game。
我們應該相信席爾瓦會為我們談成一筆好交易——他是這方面的老手。
He is new at the game， and the
old hand
wins。
他是新手，老手贏了。
He’s an
old hand
at working on cars。
他是搞汽車的老手。
2）veteran
a person who has long experience in a particular field。 經驗豐富的人，老手
例：
The
veteran
diplomatic has been ambassador to the UN since 2006。
這位經驗豐富的外交官自2006年以來一直擔任駐聯合國大使。
3）stager
這個詞也指富有經驗的人，老練的人，多指演員、老戲骨。
例：
Jackie Chan is an old
stager
in action movies。
成龍是一位武打片的老戲骨了。
4）expert
例：
The education
expert
gave some suggestions to audiences。
那個教育學專家給了觀眾們一些建議。
5）experienced
有經驗的，熟練的
例：
He is very
experienced
in looking after animals。
他養動物很有經驗。
6）insider
指對某個領域內的規則和資訊瞭如指掌的業內人士，圈內老手。
Now， I feel like I am kind of
insider
of it。
