1.because後面加句子。

He didn’t attend the meeting

because he had too much work to do

。

他不能參加會議因為他有許多工作要做。

2.because of ，後面不能跟句子。強調因果關係，與其他成分不用逗號隔開。

We are late for school

because of rain

。

3.owing to 與because of 一樣，狀語或表語，用逗號隔開。

They decided to cancel the flight，

owing to the storm

。

由於這場暴風雨，他們決定取消這個航班。

His death was

owing to an accident

。 他死於一場事故。

4.due to 表語、狀語和定語。表語和狀語，一般不與其他成分隔開。

The cancellation of the concert was due to the rain。

5.on account of 狀語、表語，不做定語。

He couldn‘t come

on account of

his illness。 他因病不能來。

That was

on account of

lack of exercise。 那是由於缺乏鍛鍊。

6.Thanks to 表語或狀語 多虧，幸虧； 相當於感謝。
