介詞near，by，beside，close to，next to 空間的具體用法和區別

這裡我們要說的是空間位置的用法，

這幾個詞都有“傍邊”的意思，

遠近分別如圖所示：

為：

near > by > beside > close to > next to

next to

： 有緊挨著的意味，緊接著，距離最近，一般指就在xx旁邊的那個物體。

close to

：沒有緊挨著的意味，靠近。

beside

：靠近 人 多用。

by

：前後左右，著重靠近，靠近 物 常用。

near

：在旁邊，在……附近。

之所以by的距離大於beside是因為：

by意思是在附近、可能有一些距離的“旁邊”；

而beside是距離很近的，甚至是要緊挨著的“旁邊”。

next to和beside兩個常用詞使用時的語境區別：

A：She sat down next to him on the sofa。

B：She sat down beside him on the sofa。

A：她

緊挨著

他在沙發上坐下了。（兩個人靠在一起，意味著他們關係親密）

B：她在沙發上坐下了，坐在他的

旁邊

。（兩個人沒有靠在一起）

而

by和beside 表示漢語“在……旁邊”

的意思時，有時可以互換使用。但似乎beside 比 by用得多，

如：

The hotel is beside （/by） the river。

那家飯店在河邊（靠近物常用beside）。

Come and sit by （/beside） me。

過來，坐在我邊上（靠近人多用by）。

而near表示“在……附近”，指的是四周圍，方圓多少裡範圍內，不特指前後左右，如：

There is a theatre near his home。

他家附近有一家劇院。

There is a post office near No。2 Middle School。

第二中學附近有一所郵局。
