沙塵暴是怎麼形成的？
Drought and wind contribute to the emergence of dust storms， as do poor farming and grazing practices by exposing the dust and sand to the wind。乾旱、大風都是沙塵暴的形成條件，此外，貧瘠的耕地和放牧造成沙塵暴露於風中，也是引發沙塵暴的原因之一。

如何應對沙塵暴？
沙塵暴來了該怎麼辦呢？以下措施能幫你減少沙塵暴帶來的危害。
❶ Put a mask over your nose and mouth.用口罩遮住鼻子和嘴巴
如果身邊有專門過濾微小顆粒物的口罩，立即戴上。在沒有口罩的情況下，用一條大手帕或找一塊布圍住鼻子和嘴巴。有水的話用水把布沾溼，鼻孔裡塗一點凡士林，防止黏膜乾燥。
❷ Protect your eyes保護眼睛
眼鏡可以最低程度地防止揚塵和揚沙，但最好戴密封的護目鏡。如果沒有護目鏡，走動的時候用手臂護住臉部，然後用一塊布緊緊圍住頭部，以保護眼睛和耳朵。
❸ Look for shelter尋找遮蔽處
即使停在路邊的車也可以。有可能的話，圍牆是最好的遮擋物，任何背風的物體都比沒有強。沙塵碰到物體會彈回，所以你要一直儘量遮住自己的面板和麵部。找不到遮蔽處的話就蹲下，這樣可以減少被飛起物體撞到的機率。
❹ Shield yourself from flying objects用遮擋物保護自己
找一塊大石頭或其他地方保護自己，至少可以起到一點作用。儘量把身體遮住，防止揚沙侵入。儘量靠近地面，用手臂、揹包或枕頭保護頭部。
