不要以為下面的英語“好簡單”，因為“我都讀懂了”。你“讀懂”的只是中文。
也不要把下面的英語“讀成”中文“才能懂”：你的“英語閱讀”應該給你一個“用”（已知）英語的機會和鍛鍊。
Paul： Yes， it‘s really a very exciting and rewarding job。 At the moment we’re designing
new software。
Jennifer： Really？ You‘ve always been clever， Paul。 I knew you’d do something
challenging and creative。 Do you often work overtime？
Paul： Not really， I work regularly most of the time。 But on Friday night I sometimes stay in the office late， dealing with anything that ‘s unfinished。
Jennifer： Good for you， Paul。 You must come and see me sometime and tell me all
about it over a cup of tea。
Paul： I certainly will。 What about you， Jennifer？ How is your job？
Jennifer： I m still an accountant with Chemical Associates。
現在，讓我們一起英語“用”起來“讀懂”它，讓“英語閱讀”變成“用”（已知）英語的“閱讀”：
1） Paul： Yes， it’s really a very exciting and rewarding job。 At the moment we‘re designing new software。

2。At the moment means right now
3。If you’re designing new software，you‘re developing new software。
如果這些英語都會用，就可以直接把它們用起來“讀懂”這句英語了。
2） Jennifer： Really？ You’ve always been clever， Paul。 I knew you‘d do something
challenging and creative。 Do you often work overtime？
1。Okay。I got you。If you’re doing something challenging，you‘re doing something difficult。So，a difficult job is a challenging job。
But challenging is much better than difficult。So，in the future，I’m not going to say something difficult any more，I‘ll say，instead，something challenging。
只有用英語學英語，我們才能在不同英語詞彙中考慮“好”與“不好”（更好）的修辭問題，而如果只問“中文什麼意思？”，則是隻問語法問題，即對錯問題。所以，必須學會用英語學英語，才能從只會用語法學英語上升到好和更好的修辭問題。
2。 Okay。I got you。If you work more than 8 hours a day，you work overtime。For example，if you work 9 hours a day，you work one hour overtime。
能用學過的英語more than 8 hours a day理解overtime，就沒必要再用它的中文“讀懂”它。
3） Paul： Not really， I work regularly most of the time。
Okay。I got you。If you work regularly，you work 8 hours a day。You do not work overtime。You work 9 to 5 a day。
見到work regularly只能“說”它的中文，卻說不出上面的英語嗎？見到work regularly不能把它跟上面的work overtime聯絡起來嗎？
這暴露了我們所謂的“英語閱讀”哪些問題？
4） But on Friday night I sometimes stay in the office late
Okay。If you stay late in office，you work overtime，you work more than 8 hours，you do not work regularly。
只有這樣的英語閱讀，才是真正的英語閱讀。
5） dealing with anything that ’s unfinished。
用“修辭”（好壞），而不是“語法”（對錯））“讀懂”這句英語：
Okay。I got you。Anything unfinished means anything that is not finished。But unfinished is much better than is not finished。So next time，I‘m not going to say something that is not finished any more，I’ll say something unfinished。
6） Jennifer： Good for you， Paul。 You must come and see me sometime and tell me all
about it over a cup of tea。
Okay。I got you。Say something over a cup of tea means Say something while we‘re drinking a cup of tea。But Over a cup of tea is better than drink a cup of tea。
7） Paul： I certainly will。
Certainly means Of course，surely，no problem，and definitely。But definitely is better than certainly。
這也是“修辭”思考學習英語，而不是隻問：certainly中文什麼意思？
