L3 Please send me a card
1. send 寄，送
send sth .to sb./send sb. sth. 給某人送（寄）東西
I sent a letter to my father yesterday. 昨天我給我爸寄了封信。
I sent Tom a postcard last Sunday。 上週日我給湯姆寄了一張明信片。
2. postcard 明信片 credit card 信用卡 name card 名片
3. Post cards always spoil my holidays. 明信片總攪得我假日不得安寧。
spoil (spoiled ,spoilt)
(1) 弄壞，損壞，糟蹋
The rain spoiled the school sports.
Our camping trip was spoilt by bad weather。
（2） 寵壞，慣壞，溺愛
She spoils those kids of hers。 她那幾個孩子給她寵壞了。
Don’t spoil your children。 不能太慣孩子。
spoil 把東西質量變差；生活中不順心的事
break 打破 break the windows 打破玻璃
damage 破壞，徹底摧毀
4. friendly 友好的，朋友般的。 形容詞，單獨使用時一般做定語；作狀語表人做什麼事情很友好 in a friedly way
friendly advice 友好的建議
friendly warning 忠告
He is friendly to us all. 他對我們大家都很友好。
A friendly dog came to meet us 。 一條友好的狗出來迎接我們。
She gave me a friendly greeting。 她友好地和我打了一下招呼。
類似的形容詞有： brotherly， fatherly， manly， lovely， motherly 等。
5.a few可與複數可數名詞連用，表示肯定，含有some, a small number of(一些，少數幾個)的意思：
The police would like to ask him a few questions。
警察要問他一些問題。
Mother is coming in a few days。
媽媽過幾天就要來了。
5. lend 把東西借給某人 lend sth to sb/lend sb sth
Would you lend me your pen?能把你的筆借我用一下嗎?
Yesterday I lent my dictionary to Mary。昨天我把字典借給了瑪麗。
borrow 指向別人借東西 borow sth from sb/borrow sth
I borrowed your good idea. 我借用了你的想法。
You can borrow this dictionary from the library。 你可以從圖書館借到這本字典。
6. think about /of 考慮，思考 指某一段時間一直在想/考慮某事
Have you thought about what job your are going to do? 你考慮過準備做什麼工作了嗎？
think over 仔細考慮，反覆思考
Think over what to do about it. 你尋思尋思這事該怎麼辦。
7. decision 決定，選擇，抉擇
It was not easy for me to make/ take this decision. 對我來說作出這項決定並不容易。
You have made/taken a wrong decision。 你作出了個錯誤的決定。
Have you made/taken a decision？ 你決定了嗎？

I spent the whole day in my room… 我在房間裡呆了整整一天……
（1）spend與表示時間的詞/短語連用時，意思為“花（時間）”、“度過”：
We‘re going to spend three days in the country。
我們打算到鄉下去3天。
spend還可以表示“花錢”：
If we spend all the money， we’ll be poor again。
如果我們把所有的錢都花光了，我們又會變窮的。
I can‘t spend any more on this car。
我不能再為這車花錢了。
（2）whole， “整整的”、“整個的”：
a whole year 一整年
a whole bottle of milk 一整瓶牛奶
two whole weeks 整整兩星期
