1。It’s gridlocked。

堵車了。

gridlock ［‘grɪdlɒk］ 是一個不可數名詞，指的是“交通全面堵塞”：

the situation that exists when all the roads in a particular place are so full of vehicles that none of them can move。

這裡用的是它的形容詞形式“堵車的”。

比如：

What if he got out on the gridlocked freeway and went down the emergency exit； would the course of his life change？

如果他能從堵塞的高速公路脫身，然後到達緊急出口，那麼他的生活軌跡是否能改變呢？

2。It’s bumper-to-bumper。

車真是一輛接一輛。

bumper指汽車的保險槓。

bumper-to-bumper 這個表達就是說一輛汽車緊接另一輛汽車，前後的保險槓都快碰上了。這可以用來形容交通非常堵塞，行使緩慢，幾乎不動了。

3。It’s going at a snail’s pace。

車開得像蝸牛一樣。

at a snail’s pace指的是“非常慢；（像蝸牛一樣）慢吞吞地”

車開得像蝸牛一樣慢，可以表明交通確實是非常堵塞了。

4。It’s like a car park。

簡直就是個停車場。

car park 是英式英語，意為“停車場”

這裡形容車多但又無法前進的“盛況”。
